Rumors have been flying around the Springsteen world for some time now that a new box-set may be on its way. The rumor is that this will commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the release of Darkness on the Edge of Town. The truth is that this project is in the works and will likely be released in latter portion of 2008. The box-set is supposedly going to include a remastered version of the album (CD) itself as well as a live concert DVD from the Darkness tour (and possibly a few other “gems”?). There are a few shows that have been rumored thus far to be “the one” for the DVD; some of the popular ones include the following dates: 07/08/1978 (Phoenix, AZ) and 08/23/1978 (New York, NY). You may just have a to wait a few months to see which show is released. As of now, it is very possible that you may see this box-set in stores as early as this September.

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band have added another show to the Magic tour at Hershey Park Stadium on August 19th, 2008. Tickets will be on sale this Saturday, June 21st, at 10 am. The Hershey show comes in between Bruce’s concerts in Foxborough, MA, and Milwaukee, WI. Hopefully they add more dates in between these shows as there is plenty of room to do so.
Keep this page bookmarked for updates as they come in!

Bruce and the E Street Band played an awesome looking show in Cardiff on Saturday night to kick off their post-break European tour. The show opened with a “Magic” tour debut of “From Small Things.” Some other highlights from this show included “Blinded By the Light” and “Working on the Highway.” A terrific encore consisting of “Jungleland”, “Thunder Road, “Born to Run”, “Rosalita”, and “American Land” capped off a great night. What is especially interesting however is that “Land of Hope and Dreams” was soundchecked on this night so we expect this Reunion/Rising tour warhorse to appear sometime soon.

Hey guys. I’m sorry I did not post this sooner but I was unable to post until just this minute. But, unfortunately, the fall tour has been shelved. Yeah, I know I’ve been saying it was coming but in the last day and a half, it has been decided that the Magic tour will now end in August at the Milwaukee Festival. However, we are likely looking at a few shows in smaller market areas before this show. These shows will undoubtedly have great setlists and will be a lot of fun!
Again, my apologies for the change in plans but I only report what I am told.
However, there is still a very good chance that Bruce is going to be using studio time to cut a new E Street Band album sometime in the near future. Stay tuned!

This is one of my favorite videos of Bruce and Southside Johnny performing a great Miami Steve tune, “I Don’t Wanna Go Home.” This song is always exciting when played at either Southside concerts or at Bruce’s holiday shows in Asbury Park.In this case, Bruce came to the Agora Ballroom after his own concert (Aug. 30th, 1978) and joined Southside on stage for an impromptu set:
The Fever / I Don’t Wanna Go Home / Havin’ a Party
Miami Steve was also present as he played guitar for the Jukes at this show. In fact, the show started late as they had to wait for Stevie to finish Bruce’s concert first.
Those were the days!
Enjoy!
Also, don’t forget to check back here throughout this week and next (probably next) for the big announcement of the fall tour. It’s coming fast!

GREAT SONG AND A GREAT PERFORMANCE. This was a big surprise for all the fans who were at the August 11th, 2003, show at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.
Here are the lyrics:
We sit in the car outside your house
I can feel the heat coming ’round
I go to put my arm around you and you give me a look like I’m way out of bounds
Well you let out one of your bored sighs
Well lately when I look into your eyes I’m goin’ down down down down down
I’m goin’ down down down down
We get dressed up and we go, out, baby for the night
We come home early burning, burning in some fire fight
I’m sick and tired of you settin’ me up girl, settin’ me up just to knock-a knock-a, knockin’ me down down down down
I pull you close now baby, but when we kiss I can feel a doubt
I remember back when we started, my kisses used to turn you inside out
I used to drive you to work in the morning
Friday night I’d drive you all around
You used to love to drive me wild
But lately girl you get your kicks from just driving me down down down down

WOW! What a great drive to work I had this morning. First to come on is “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)” - the “Live/75-85″ version (my favorite). Then, right in “Santa Ana” from “Tracks.” Could this get any better? Well, that would be hard to top but next up was another favorite of mine: “Tunnel of Love.”
This is all great but what would be really awesome is if somebody were to tell me that an announcement for the E Street Band’s fall tour was coming early next week or even late this week…hmmm

This is one of my favorite Bruce songs because it is so high energy and never really slows down for a minute. I think this is also a great version because Joan Jett can really rock! This took place at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ, on October 19th, 2001.
Here are the rest of the songs that featured Springsteen in some capacity:
Tiger Rose (with Sonny Burgess & the Sun Rythm Section) / All Just to Get to You (with Joe Ely) / Light of Day (with Joan Jett) / Bobby Jean / My City of Ruins / Land of Hope and Dreams / Thunder Road / Stand By Me

After reading all the reviews and setlists of the shows thus far on the “Magic” tour, I have come to a conclusion on which show stands out as the best of the best. Before I reveal my selection, I will say that I am going to keep bias out of the equation by not using my experience at any of the shows as a factor; I am going simply by reviews and setlists.
So, starting with the rehearsal show in New Jersey on September 24th, 2007, through the latest show in London on May 31st, 2008, I have chosen the March 24th, 2008, show at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio.
This show just stands out as being one of the most energetic shows to date. The setlist is truly unbelievable with the world debut of “You’ll Be Comin’ Down” as well as the long awaited appearance of “Sherry Darling.” A few other gems included standout performances of “Incident”, “Rosie”, and “Glory Days.”
What a show!
Setlist: The Ties That Bind / Radio Nowhere / Lonesome Day / Adam Raised a Cain / Gypsy Biker / Something in the Night / Reason to Believe / You’ll Be Comin’ Down / Because the Night / She’s the One / Livin’ in the Future / The Promised Land / Sherry Darling / Incident on 57th Street / Devil’s Arcade / The Rising / Last to Die / Long Walk Home / Badlands
Encore:Girls in Their Summer Clothes / Born to Run / Rosalita / Glory Days / American Land

Originally, and for some time now, the plan was for Bruce and the band to end the “Magic” tour in Los Angeles, CA, in October 2008. However, recent proceedings in the scheduling point to a possible change in this plan. As of now, it’s tough to say where the tour will end, but one can only hope for the Garden State!
In general, the whole process of actually announcing the fall tour dates is taking very long causing Springsteen fans to moan and groan. However, as we move further along in the month of June, the announcement is getting closer and closer as Springsteen and company (Landau) are working to finalize the schedule.
All information still points to shows in secondary markets with a few in some major areas; of course I refer to New Jersey, Philadelphia, and New York. BE PATIENT…it’s on the horizon!
Check back here for the latest as it comes!
