Bruce Springsteen She The One Video

Published by benz under Bruce Videos Edit This

With her killer graces and her secret places
That no boy can fill with her hands on her hips
Oh and that smile on her lips
Because she knows that it kills me
With her soft French cream
Standing in that doorway like a dream
I wish she’d just leave me alone
Because French cream won’t soften them boots
And French kisses will not break that heart of stone
With her long hair falling
And her eyes that shine like a midnight sun
Oh-o she’s the one, she’s the one

That thunder in your heart
At night when you’re kneeling in the dark
It says you’re never gonna leave her
But there’s this angel in her eyes
That tells such desperate lies
And all you want to do is believe her
And tonight you’ll try just one more time
To leave it all behind and to break on through
Oh she can take you, but if she wants to break you
She’s gonna find out that ain’t so easy to do
And no matter where you sleep tonight or how far you run
Oh-o she’s the one, she’s the one

Oh-o and just one kiss
She’d fill them long summer nights
With her tenderness that secret pact you made
Back when her love could save you from the bitterness
Oh she’s the one, oh she’s the one
Oh she’s the one, oh she’s the one
Oh she’s the one, oh she’s the one

Here is a nice gift

Published by benz under Holiday Gifts Edit This

As they did last year, the National Priorities Project is auctioning a print of this beautiful Annie Leibovitz photograph of Springsteen in 1999, previously seen in her book, American Music. Up for auction on eBay now, it’s a large (20″ x 24″), limited edition print (Artist Proof #6), signed by the photographer, and valued at $5,500. The auction runs from Thursday, July 19 to Sunday July 29. Click here to go to the eBay auction page. The photograph was taken on September 20, 1999, backstage at the First Union Center in Philadelphia (show #3 of the 6 nights in Philly). Clearly visible is the previous night’s setlist, to ensure the requisite setlist changes from night to night. At the moment captured, Bruce had only written that night’s list up to “Tenth Avenue Freeze-out.” The guitar he’s holding and book of songs he’s looking at suggest that he’s deciding — at that very moment — what to play in the famous “post-Tenth” slot in the setlist, often the biggest setlist surprise on any given night… Philly got “Back in Your Arms” that night.

Tour Update

Published by benz under Bruce News Edit This

Could we get another couple of nights of Bruce Springsteen at the TD Banknorth Garden this fall? The Boss’s reps couldn’t be reached, but the buzz is that Bruce and the E Street Band are in discussions to play the Garden for a couple of nights in mid-November. Springsteen & Co. have had success with the Garden. In 2002, the gang played five sold-out nights over nearly two weeks.

It’s Hard To Be A Saint In The City, Philly 2003

Published by benz under Bruce Videos Edit This

Great Performance I was there for it

Lyrics below

I had skin like leather and the diamond-hard look of a cobra
I was born blue and weathered but I burst just like a supernova
I could walk like Brando right into the sun
Dance just like a Casanova
With my blackjack and jacket and hair slicked sweet
Silver star studs on my duds like a Harley in heat
When I strut down the street I could feel its heartbeat
The sisters fell back said, “Don’t that man look pretty.”
The cripple on the corner cried out “Nickels for your pity.”
Them gasoline boys downtown sure talk gritty
It’s so hard to be a saint in the city

I was the king of the alley, mama, I could talk some trash
I was the prince of the paupers crowned downtown at the beggar’s bash
I was the pimp’s main prophet I kept everything cool
Just a backstreet gambler with the luck to lose
And when the heat came down and it was left on the ground
The devil appeared like Jesus through the steam in the street
Showin’ me a hand I knew even the cops couldn’t beat
I felt his hot breath on my neck as I dove into the heat
It’s so hard to be a saint when you’re just a boy out on the street

And the sages of the subway sit just like the living dead
As the tracks clack out the rhythm, their eyes fixed straight ahead
They ride the line of balance and hold on by just a thread
But it’s too hot in these tunnels you can get hit up by the heat
You get up to get out at your next stop but they push you back down in your seat
Your heart starts beatin’ faster as you struggle to your feet
Then you’re outa that hole back up on the street

And them South Side sisters sure look pretty
The cripple on the corner cries out, “Nickels for your pity.”
Them downtown boys they sure talk gritty
It’s so hard to be a saint in the city

Tim Russert Dream Interview

Published by admin under Interveiws Edit This

According to his NBC bio, Russert “has interviewed every major figure on the American political scene.”

Still, he has regrets. Russert wished he could’ve had Pope John Paul II on “Meet the Press.” “I would’ve asked him about his life as an outspoken religious leader,” Russert said, specifically his impact on the fall of Communism and his views about how American Catholics viewed his teachings.

President Bush hasn’t appeared on “Meet the Press” since February 2004, Russert noted. He said that he’d ask Bush if he anticipates any change in the administration’s Iraq policy. “I don’t expect” there would be one, according to Russert.

Can you guess who is his dream “get”?

It’s rock and roll star Bruce Springsteen. “I’m very intrigued by him,” Russert said. “He has a real understanding of the political dialogue, of faith and life in urban America.”

Russert already has a connection to “the Boss.” “I booked concerts for John Carroll [University] in Cleveland,” Russert recalled. “We paid $2,500 to book him on a Tuesday night in February 1974.”

Aside from the indelible mental snapshot of seeing a brilliant performer 18 months before he made it big, Russert cherishes the memory for a more practical reason: “I made enough money to pay for my second year of law school.”

He said he told Springsteen the story once when he ran into him at a New York City restaurant. Springsteen laughed and said, “That sounds like one of my songs.”

I bet Russert could woo Springsteen by playing snippets of his tunes to accompany appearances by the candidates: “Glory Days” for Sen. John McCain, “Born to Run” for Sen. Hillary Clinton, “Two Hearts” for John Edwards, “It’s Hard to be a Saint in the City” for Mitt Romney, “New York City Serenade” for Rudy Giuliani, “Jungleland” for Mayor Michael Bloomberg and, of course, “I’m on Fire” for Obama.

If Michael Dukakis, comes on the show, Russert can cue up “Kitty’s Back” for the missus.

I asked Russert if he had reached out to Springsteen to request an interview. He shook his head, as if he was unworthy of the meeting. It was reassuring to see that even Tim “No Surrender” Russert, the scourge of Washington, could act a little overwhelmed by someone.

Guess We Cant Blame You Tim

Streets Of Philadelphia In Philly Bruce Springsteen

Published by benz under The Boss Live Edit This

Great Version Lyrics Below

I was bruised and battered and I couldn’t tell what I felt
I was unrecognizable to myself
Saw my reflection in a window I didn’t know my own face
Oh brother are you gonna leave me wastin’ away
On the streets of Philadelphia

I walked the avenue ’til my legs felt like stone
I heard the voices of friends vanished and gone
At night I could hear the blood in my veins
Just as black and whispering as the rain
On the streets of Philadelphia

Ain’t no angel gonna greet me
It’s just you and I my friend
And my clothes don’t fit me no more
I walked a thousand miles
just to slip this skin

The night has fallen, I’m lyin’ awake
I can feel myself fading away
So receive me brother with your faithless kiss
or will we leave each other alone like this
On the streets of Philadelphia

Bruce Stops By A Bar For A Jam

Published by benz under Bruce Videos Edit This

Springsteen & Solar Circus 8/10/95

Here is the Comment from the utube post

Bruce came out to a small bar called The Metro in Long Branch,NJ the day after Jerry Garcia’s passing… He had no idea a band was playing and wound up doing a set of music with Solar Circus- only 2 songs made it on tape- Brighter Things and Mustang Sally. The Mustang Sally got a little chopped off at the end- but it’s still pretty cool.
Enjoy!

Latest Tour Update

Published by benz under Bruce News Edit This

The general disarray at Sony Music’s Columbia Records may have a savior: Bruce Springsteen.

The Boss, as we still call him, is apparently planning a new album for release in late fall. Some sources insist that this will be an E Street Band album, and not another side project like the “Seeger Sessions” or a solo collection of introspective songs.

An E Street Band album means a big rock ‘n’ roll sound with Springsteen’s featured players like Steve van Zandt, Max Weinberg and Clarence Clemons.

Sources tell me that tracks have been recorded with the group, and that the hope among Bruce insiders is that he will choose their project over several others he may have cooking.

“You never know,” one observer said, “but it’s looking better and better
Sony insiders definitely confirmed in the last few days that

Springsteen is scheduled to release new music before the end of the year. He would have to be, since last year, former Sony Music CEO Andy Lack helped the rock legend land a contract worth $100 million over several years.

Another and very important player would be Springsteen’s wife: rocker Patti Scialfa. The timing would be perfect since Scialfa — one of my favorite female rockers — already has an album set for release in early September.

“Play It As It Lays” is Scialfa’s first new set of songs since “23rd Street Lullaby,” which was released three years ago. Patti is already booked on “Letterman” and the “Today” show as well as “The View,” where she may have to co-host if Barbara Walters doesn’t find replacements for her departed panelists.

For Bruce, a new album would be the first E Street Band release since “The Rising,” his magnificent recording about 9/11. That album sold better than any previous Springsteen albums and picked up a number of Grammy nominations. Springsteen lost the award for best album to Norah Jones’ debut, if you recall.

If you never tried it, pick up “The Rising” or download some of its amazing tracks like “Empty Sky” or “You’re Missing.”

The latter song, which had a serious message, could also be the theme song at Sony these days. Quite a few people are missing — and they’re not coming back. I’m told that layoffs are continuing, with several departments in publicity and marketing gutted.

When I mentioned this to a Sony higher-up the other day, the person replied: “You are the last one writing about the record business. Don’t you realize it’s over?”

Maybe, but if so, what do I do with my 1,200 45s and thousands of CDs? Not everything fits in a computer. And when the Springsteen album comes out, I don’t want to listen to it on earbuds, but through my Rogue tube amplifier and Sequerra Met 7 speakers. Loud, baby, loud.

Well it looks good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bruce Springsteen goes Looney Tunes

Published by benz under Bruce Videos, lyrics Edit This

Here is one of the best videos i have seen in a while

Enjoy Lyrics Below

I get up in the evening and I ain’t got nothing to say
I come home in the morning, I go to bed feelin’ the same way
I ain’t nothing but tired, man I’m just tired and bored with myself
Hey there baby, I could use just a little help

You can’t start a fire, you can’t start a fire without a spark
This gun’s for hire even if we’re just dancing in the dark

Message just keep getting clearer, radio’s on and I’m moving ’round my place*
I check my look in the mirror, I wanna change my clothes, my hair, my face
Man, I ain’t getting nowhere, I’m just living in a dump like this
There’s something happening somewhere, baby I just know that there is

You can’t start a fire, you can’t start a fire without a spark
This gun’s for hire even if we’re just dancing in the dark

You sit around getting older, there’s a joke here somewhere and it’s on me
I’ll shake this world off my shoulders, come on baby this laugh’s on me

Stay on the streets of this town and they’ll be carving you up alright
They say you gotta stay hungry, hey baby, I’m just about starving tonight
I’m dying for some action, I’m sick of sitting ’round here tryin’ to write this book
I need a love reaction, come on now baby gimme just one look

You can’t start a fire sitting ’round cryin’ over a broken heart
This gun’s for hire even if we’re just dancing in the dark
You can’t start a fire worryin’ about your little world fallin’ apart
This gun’s for hire even if we’re just dancing in the dark
Even if we’re just dancing in the dark
Even if we’re just dancing in the dark
Even if we’re just dancing in the dark
Hey baby
